About the program

The Beta College Advanced Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration teaches students to be aware of and appreciate the subject, helping them analyze, evaluate, and communicate their skills. The course navigates through the overarching principles of design, incorporating the core elements of scale, form, light, texture, and colour.

The student will explore the development of ideas and methods of visual communication, learn to consider a client's requirements, organize and decorate a residential site via studio and workshops, and exchange ideas and experiences through round-table discussions. The student will also learn to evaluate and categorize information alongside regulatory procedures, references, materials, fitments, and equipment specifications.

Admission Requirements
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • If you are above 18 years of age and do not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, you have to successfully complete the Wonderlic scholastic level test with a minimum score of 16.

To ensure student success in the Diploma in Professional Interior Design and Decoration, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • English Language Proficiency: As the program is delivered entirely in English, applicants must demonstrate a good command of the English language, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • Computer Literacy: Applicants should have basic computer knowledge to participate effectively in online and in-class learning activities.
  • Familiarity with Basic Software: Experience with commonly used applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and internet-based tools is encouraged.
