Diploma Program in CAD/CAM Technology is designed to prepare students for modern-day production structures where most manufactured goods pass through computer-aided design and manufacturing systems. Students will explore and learn how to enhance efficiency and stay competitive by using computer-aided design systems.
Students will receive training in engineering design, blueprint reading, preparing drawings and specifications, drafting standards, and handling basic engineering documentation. As part of this CAD/CAM Technology program, students will receive hands-on training in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CNC Programming, and MasterCAM. This diploma program provides the necessary skills to become part of an engineering team within a manufacturing organization.
Graduates of this program would be able to find employment as mechanical engineering technicians, drafting technologists or technicians, mechanical designers, CAD technicians, and CAD designers in small, medium, or large engineering, service, contracting, or consultancy firms.

This career applies science to mechanical design, so it helps to have an analytical mind and strong math skills. Students will be involved in everything from design and drafting to fabrication, 3D printing, and prototype development.
