Diploma Program in CAD/CAM Technology is designed to prepare the students for the modern day production structures where most of the manufactured goods pass through Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing systems. You will explore and learn how to enhance efficiency and stay competitive by using computer aided design systems.

You will receive training in engineering design, reading blueprints, preparing drawings and specifications, drafting standards, and to deal with all basic engineering documentations. As a student of this program in CAD/CAM technology you will be given hands on training in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, CNC Programming and MasterCAM. This diploma program imparts necessary skills to be part of an engineering team of a manufacturing organization.

Graduates of this program would be able to find employment as Mechanical Engineering Technicians, Drafting technologists/technicians, Mechanical Designers, CAD Technicians and CAD Designers in small, medium or large engineering, service, contracting or consultancy firms.

  • If you are above 18 years of age and do not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma you have to successfully complete an Wonderlic SLE with a minimum score of 20.

About the Wonderlic Test:

  • 8-minute test with 30 questions
  • Students will receive a link to complete the test
  • Students must achieve a minimum score of 14 for Fundamental diploma, and a score of 16 for Data Analytics diploma. For all other programs, students must achieve a minimum score of 15

Computer Use Expectation

  • In order to successfully progress through your studies at Beta College of Business & Technology, it is recommended that you have access to a personal computer or laptop. For additional information please refer to program specific admission page.

Native English Applicants: 

  • English proficiency tests are not required.

Non-Native English Applicants: 

  • IELTS (minimum 6) or TOEFL (minimum 79)
  • It’s a career that applies science to mechanical design, so it helps to have an analytical mind and good math skills. The student will be involved in everything from design and drafting, to fabrication, 3D printing and prototype development.
  • Understand the concepts of CAD and CAD tools
    Design and drafting of Part Modelling and Assembling Modlellings in 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD, Solidworks and Invetor
  • Understand the working of CNC Machines, Machine Vision
    Design and machine using CAD/CAM packages like MasterCAM and Surface Design and Machining using MasterCAM
    Design cell level in FMS and CIM
    Hand-on exposure to real life CIM environment
    Understand advanced features of CAD/CAM
  • The CAD/CAM Engineering Technology program is diploma program to develop the knowledge and skills needed to put computer and engineering principles to work. Industries like Car manufacturing of mechanical parts, Plastic parts, moulds manufacturing, tools and dye section industries have requirement of CAD/ CAM Technology students.
