Overview

 The Beta College Foundation Diploma in Information Technology is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the information technology field or pursue further education.

The certification is designed to provide each student with the chance to expand industry knowledge and acquire up-to-date skills and practices in computer systems, networks, mobile communications, computer security, and social media.

Unit Code: ITFP 301

Unit Name: Introduction to Computer Systems

 This module aims to familiarize students with the fundamental hardware and software components that comprise computer systems and prepare them to perform basic installation and setup. This section is intended to aid learners in comprehending the fundamental aspects of computer systems and how well they are customized to meet specific needs.

Unit Code: ITFP 302

Unit Name: Fundamentals of Network Systems

The objective of this module is to help students comprehend the critical role of networks in computer systems and their critical use in a range of applications. Additionally, learners will develop knowledge of fundamental network technology and the significance and crucial comprehension of various networked services.

Unit Code: HCFP 303

Unit Name: Importance of Mobile Communication System

The goal of this module is to describe the evolution of mobile technology and how it has impacted daily life and familiarize learners with the functionality that supports critical business and fundamentals of e-commerce and its applications in today’s ever-evolving world.

Unit Code: ITFP 304

Unit Name:  Essentials of Cyber Security

The aim of this module is to educate learners regarding computer security and the dangers and effects of insufficient computer security. They will be able to decipher the critical language and the intentions of both excellent and negative individuals. Additionally, they will examine the benefits and drawbacks of security through design.

Unit Code: ITFP 305

Unit Name:  Fundamentals of Social Media

The purpose of this module is to expose students to how businesses leverage social media to increase brand awareness. Additionally, learners will learn the importance of social media strategies and policies to satisfy corporate objectives.

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Academic documents copies (Certificate and Transcript) of High School or equivalent
  • English Language Proficiency is encouraged.

Mature Learners Entry Scheme

  • A mature student returns to study after being out of education for three years or more. This requirement usually means students over 21 when beginning a foundation program.
  • Our Mature Student Entry Scheme recognizes non-traditional entry qualifications and experience alongside your university application. We are looking for people who have a passion for learning and an accurate determination to succeed in our courses.
  • Total Module Time (TMT) is the number of hypothetical hours that reflects an estimation of the overall time that might reasonably be anticipated to be needed for a learner to accomplish and show the level of attainment required for the granting of a certificate.
  • Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is described as the times during which an instructor, lecturer, or other staff member is accessible to give direct instruction or guidance to a learner pursuing a certification.
  • The credit value of a Module or Unit is defined as the number of credits that may be granted to a student upon successful completion of the module’s learning objectives and goals. One Beta College Credit is equivalent to ten TMT hours.
