Professional Certificate in Data Science

The Professional Certification in Data Sciences helps students learn the basics of data science to improve their job prospects or change careers. You will gain a foundational level of knowledge and skills in data science to help guide strategic decision-making and be introduced to different concepts, including data mining, machine learning, and data visualization.

A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science is recommended but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of programming and programming languages is strongly recommended.

The certificate program is made up of 10 Micro-credentials that are meant to be taken for learning to go in a natural progression. Each of these micro-credentials takes about 35 hours in total qualification time to complete, and they are all done online with help from a trainer, weekly webinars, peer networking, and cooperative learning. It is made for people who work full-time and need to learn around their busy schedules. As a result, you do not have to attend synchronous sessions, and you can work on the tasks whenever it is convenient for you.

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent earned after high school from accredited institutions can be admitted with a minimum of two years of work experience.
  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science is recommended.
  • Basic knowledge of programming and programming languages is strongly recommended.
  • English Language Proficiency is encouraged as these qualifications are taught in English.
  • Total Module Time (TMT) is the number of hypothetical hours that reflects an estimation of the overall time that might reasonably be anticipated for a learner to accomplish and show the level of attainment required for granting a certificate.
  • Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is when an instructor, lecturer, or other staff member is accessible to give direct instruction or guidance to a learner pursuing a certification.
  • The credit value of a Module or Unit is defined as the number of credits that may be granted to a student upon successful completion of the module’s learning objectives and goals. One Beta College Credit is equivalent to ten TMT hours.
